Frequently Asked Questions:

Paperbacks Shipping Time 

Paperback orders usually arrive within 7-10 business days. You'll receive a tracking number for your order. However, please allow up to three weeks for book and merchandise delivery as mail may be delayed during busy holidays.

Our distributor prints in and ships from the U.S., U.K., Canada, and Australia. Shipping is charged at domestic rates if you order within those countries. If you order paperbacks from another country, your shipping will likely be higher, depending on what the carriers charge.

Our books and merchandise are print-on-demand items, so there is time needed to process, pack securely, and ship them to you.
For autographed books, Jan's travel schedule may delay your order, as she must be home to personalize it and prepare your shipment.

She often speaks at conferences, visits bookstores, and goes on research trips. Thank you for your understanding. (If you want her books sooner, please visit an online bookseller such as Amazon or Barnes & Noble.) 


1. What products are available to purchase?

In this author shop, you'll find ebooks, paperbacks, and audiobooks for digital devices and smart phones.

2. How will I get my ebook or audiobook?

Your ebooks and audiobooks are delivered automatically to the email address you used at checkout. Look for an email from BookFunnel with instructions.

If you did not receive our emails, please look in your spam folder. They might land there if your email security settings are set to high. If you can't find any emails, please contact us via the Contact Us links in the menu and at the end of each page. The email might have been lost, or you might have incorrectly entered your email address. 

3. How does the process work?

You should get an email from BookFunnel immediately upon purchase. If the email hasn’t arrived in 5 minutes, look for it in your Spam folder -- or if you have Gmail, in your Promotions folder. Make sure you enter your email address carefully to avoid errors.

If you need technical help with your ebook or audiobook, the friendly folks of Bookfunnel will be there to help. You can email them here for help downloading or transferring to your Kindle, Nook, Kobo, or other reading device.

4. How will I read my ebook or listen to my audiobook?

You should be able to load your book on most devices. There will be instructions on how to do that on the download page. 

The easiest way is to install the Bookfunnel app on your eReader - there will be instructions for this with your download ( don't worry, it's easy!)

Log into BookFunnel with the email you used to purchase/download your books, and you will find your library here:

Your library will contain all the ebooks you have purchased from BookFunnel from us and other authors who use BookFunnel.

5. Will the BookFunnel app work on my device?

The Bookfunnel app works on the following:

a. Kindle Fire tablets after 2015

b. Kobo eReaders except Kobo Aura

c. Nook tablets after 2014

d. Apple devices (Apple Books, iTunes, iPads, iPhones) using a minimum of iOS 10+ (2016) (but most were upgraded to iOS 10 after 2012)

e. Android Tablets and Phones after Android 5.1(2013)

You can also read on your computer using Chrome or Firefox browsers.

Unfortunately, the Bookfunnel App doesn't work on :

E-Ink devices, including Kindle Paperwhite, Touch, Voyage, Oasis, NOOK Glowlight, and Kobo Aura.

6. What should I do if I don't have an e-reader device?

If you have a desktop computer, laptop, or phone, you can simply install Chrome or Firefox, or read in the cloud on your phone, or sideload it onto your device (the Bookfunnel support team can help with this).

7. Can I get a refund on digital items?

Generally, there are no refunds on digital items unless you purchased in error or have a device that does not support the BookFunnel App. If you have already downloaded your individual ebooks or audiobooks, we may not be able to process a refund, as you have already taken action to receive them.

We will try our best to accommodate you. If you're having trouble downloading, reach out to the friendly folks at BookFunnel (#3 above).

Please contact us before initiating a chargeback with your credit card company or PayPal so we can help you more quickly and effectively. Chargebacks generally take a month for credit card companies or PayPal to investigate and reverse chargebacks, if approved.

8. How can I return paperback books?

If your books are in clean, unread condition and can be sold to another reader, you may contact us for a return authorization via the Contact Us link in the menu or at the bottom of the page to return books at your cost. We will process a refund upon receipt of your books.

If your book is damaged, except those specifically sold as damaged or overstock, contact us for a replacement.

Please enter your shipping address carefully, as once your order is shipped, it will be difficult, if not impossible, to track it down or change the address.

There might be a small, immediate window of opportunity on the weekend when our distributor is closed, but it is very narrow, and we cannot guarantee it, as they might work weekends during busy periods or be in a time zone ahead of you. Contacting us immediately is imperative, and we will do our best to help you.

9. Do you offer large print and hardcover books?

Yes, we do. You may order through Bookshop.org, Barnes & Noble online, or Amazon. At this time, we don't offer hardcover and large print editions in our shop unless they are signed copies listed as available.

10. Why don't you have more signed books?

The available inventory for signed books varies, as these are often overstock books that Jan Moran ordered for a special event.

11. Why aren't audiobooks always available right away on book launch?

We try our best, but our narrators are bestselling audiobook professionals who keep their own schedules and often book out as far as two years in advance. We think the best narrators are worth the wait, so we ask for your patience until our turn comes.
If you preordered from this shop, you will receive your audiobook in your BookFunnel App library and will be notified by email. We also post on social media and in our newsletter.
Retailers such as Audible and Apple require additional time, so they may lag by a few weeks to a month or two, depending on how they process and introduce titles in their shops.
